something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue and a silver sixpence in her shoe

Congratulations on your forthcoming special day!

Wedding traditions and superstitions are all part of the whole wedding day experience. We all need to hold onto that little something extra, to find the greater meaning or simply to give ourselves that well needed boost. At Champagne Classics one of our favourite wedding traditions is
following the lines of one of the most famous poems written for the occasion."Something Old" this line represents the link between the brides family and her past. "Something New" represents good fortune and wealth in the brides new life. "Something Borrowed" this line is there to remind the bride
that friends and family will be at hand when help is needed. "Something Blue" symbolises faithfulness and loyalty and dates back to biblical times when blue represented purity. And of course finally "A Silver Sixpence in her Shoe" is to wish the Bride wealth both financial and happiness.

We have a lovely selection of lucky sixpences here at Champagne Classics that are available to purchase. Our genuine sixpences are George VI minted from 1937 until 1952 and Elizabeth II minted from 1953 until 1967. They are protected in a PVC coin sleeve and come beautifully presented in a velvet pouch. A unique and traditional lucky charm that would equally make a fabulous keepsake after your wedding day to cherish in your wedding keepsake box for years to come. Our sixpence range would also make a well thought out and special birthday gift or anniversary gift. All the sixpences are silver in colour and have super clear details both crown side and head side.
